Requirements capture and management is a critical product development process that focuses upon translating customer and market needs into prioritized requirements, targets and constraints while establishing bi-directional traceability between requirements, analysis documentation, product designs, BOMs, and verification data.
With Windchill 10.0. RequirementsLink introduces several new features on top of powerful core capabilities for improved productivity and user experience, making it simpler to adopt in an enterprise.
Some Key enhancements and features include:
- Multi-Select Save-As on Requirements - Users can select requirement objects from across multiple specifications and folders, and duplicate them by using the save-as operation.
- Establish Multiple Traceability Wizard- Users can now create multiple traceability links between objects managed across specifications, collections, and product structures. Includes ability to create different kinds of trace links and automatic checks for traceability constraints, allowing users to only create links that are permissible. See attached screenshot
- Specification Templates - This feature will allow users to create new specification from a template and save existing specification as a template for reuse later.
- RequirementsLink COGNOS reports - A new report is now available OOTB to generate full description on specification including upstream and downstream links. Existing traceability report is also enhanced to include capability to generate reports between two sets of objects managed in a specification, collection or product structure.
- User Interface Alignment - This enhancement aligns the RequirementsLink UI with Windchill 10 UI (see here). Users can leverage capabilities like tabbed views, search in Requirements tables, Grouping by Columns and create Table views on the fly for complete control
- Support for Images through Microsoft Word Import - This enhancement allows users to include images along with rich text description through Microsoft Word import.
