Internet Explorer 10

Internet Explorer 10

Is anyone running WC 10.0 M040 and IE10? If so, are there any known issues?
We are thinking of moving to IE10 to take advantage of the built in spell
checker.

We are using WC 10.0 M030 and IE10. Technically it is not compatible, but seems to work.

You can use X-UA-Compatible on your Apache web server to return IE 9 standards mode and use the IE 10 UI with no issue at all.

Quick googling will explain how it works.

I would like to revisit the subject on IE 10 and Windchill.

We are still on Windchill 9.1 M050 and ProE WF4.0 M220
(I know, very old, ... we are working on an upgrade, but I don't see it happen in the near future)

Our ITdept. would like to rollout IE10 (and so do I), but PTC says IE10 is not supported:

(we have been using IE 9 on M050 for years now)

We have some test users running IE10.
Some of them report no problems.
Others experience problems with continuously having to relogin or with errors like these:

What are your experiences with IE10 (specifically with Windchill 9.1)

Did anyone implement the Compatibility settings on the server (partly) described below?

Any other settings for IE10 client (Compatibility, Browser Mode, Document Mode)?

Kind regards,

Olaf Corten

Olaf,

We are on Windchill 10.1 now, but migrated last fall from Windchill 9.1. We don't have strict control over our client machines like some companies, and so had a mix of IE versions. I know several people in my company that were running IE 10, including myself quite successfully. Typically when M$ releases updates on Patch Tuesday, they get applied.

I don't remember anything special we did, other than the usual security and privacy settings on the browser. We typically set our Windchill server up as a Trusted site. We also set the Security Level to low.

We also add the server as an exception in the Popup Blocker under the privacy tab.

I have had to add the server to the compatibility list for some users but not others so don't have anything to offer there.

My experiences with WF5 (err Creo Elements/Pro 5.0) and Windchill 9.1 M070 is that IE10 as the
embedded browser will cause much grief.

* IE10 crashing
* Creo Elements/Pro 5.0 crashing
* workspaces do not display properly
* etc

I would recommend avoiding it.

No.

We didn't try anything.
