JDNI Adapter - multiple A/D branches

JDNI Adapter - multiple A/D branches

We current have ~ 250 ESIG approvals / day (user required to input username and password to complete a workflow assignment). These are being done by users in 6 facilities in one primary active directory branch (ADC). Now, we need to add users in another facility in a parallel A/D branch (EDC). Our existing adapter includes this property. We have a tech support call in asking how to add the other branch in parallel - but as usual, it's good to post this sort of thing to the world as well.

Requirement: Recognize users in both ADC and EDC

Current property:

ptcProperty: AlconjndiAdapter.searchBase=ou=ADC,dc=alconnet,dc=com

Is it just a matter of adding "ou=EDC" as a comma-separated addtional value?

Proposed updated property"

cProperty: AlconjndiAdapter.searchBase=ou=ADC,ou=EDC,dc=alconnet,dc=com

thanks in advance

Hi Mike, will you have duplicate users by chance? If I understand your post correctly you could just create a second JNDI adapter.

Steve is correct in the use of additional JNDI adapters. PTC was able to assist us in setting up four adapters for authentication. We originally had one, but aquisitions required us to add three other for three additional regions.

If you need more information, I put you in contact with the person here that worked with PTC on this.

Hi Mike,

If I am not wrong adding a node as ou=ADC,ou=EDC would mean to the adapter
to search for the node ou=ADC which is under ou=EDC which from you
description does not seem to be the case. Due to this users/groups under
ou=ADC will not be found, only the ones under ou=EDC will be found. You will
have to options either to set the Search base one level
up(dc=alconnet,dc=com) or a new Adapter.
