Is there anyone that can shed a light on java applets and proxy settings? Since IT changed the proxy settings in IE, using java applets for uploading and downloading doesn't function anymore on certain workstations.
On these jeopardized workstations, when I change the network settings in the java control panel, from 'use browser settings' to one of the other options, the problem is solved. But our preference is to use the browser settings!
Why are these java applets addressing the proxy (something the IT expert asked me)? And why can some, and can't other jre's retrieve the proxy settings from IE? Is this a typical Windchill problem, or a general IT problem, or an IT problem due to a (silly) implementation of Windchill?
