Confession. At our company we use revisions as non interchangeable changes. We have different product lines using the same part at different rev's.
We are planning to roll-out the use of multiple views of the part (BOM) for engineering and manufacturing.
Engineering uses "As Designed" view of the part and part structure.
Manufacturing will use the "Staged" view of the part and part structure.
Out problem:
We use a baseline to capture the given revision configuration of the structure that is released to manufacturing. That will result in a downstream Staged equivalence being created someplace in the rev scheme for each part.
