Notifications other than Subscription table in Windchill10.1

Hi,

I need to know a way in which a subscribed(to a document say..)user can recieve notifications other than the subscription table on Home Page of the user.

Kindly let me know if there is an alternative to this.

Thanks for your response.But I am looking for something other than the OOTB approach.

I have already tried that..But it does not give the notification in the desired format.

Hence,I was looking for some other way -around.

Hi Jorn,

I subscribed to a document template. Now when I log in as the user who has subscribed, in the home page the Subscription Table shows the Notification about the change that has been made to that template.

However, I want to recieve the information about who made the changes to the template and other relevant details about the changes made.

Is it possible for me to get an email nnotification for it?

We get notification emails for the document subscriptions we set up in our 9.1 environment. I would expect the same to be the case for templates and also in a 10.1 environment.

Are you able to get email notifications for other things like discussions and promotes? If not is you server set up correctly to point to the smtp port of a running email server? Is your account in Windchill configured with an email address?

Hi Jorn,

I guess its the server problem.Are there any guidelines to set up the server to point to the smpt port ??If yes, do let me know.Meanwhile I will check in Windchill Help Guides.And yes my windchill account is configured with an email address.I will let you know if I come across any information.
