Hi Raghuram,

First thing would be to check if there is any Antivirus on the server, if
yes try stopping the services. If not, then on the client machine try
deleting the Java Cache from Java control Panel 'Remove Temporary' option.
Then clear browser cache and restart the browser to try.

Regards,

Rohan

Rohan Dude,

May be he has to see if any java applet like Lifecycle Template or other
can be opened without asking to install jre. I think I've seen this before.

May be I am not sure about it. Please check if you can open any java applet
like Lifecycle Template and if it prompts to install java, just follow the
link and install the JRE and restart the browser.

Rohan, What Say ?

Note: This is guess!!!

Let me know if the issue is fixed

Cheers !!!

Hi Raghu,

I have seen this issue before.

Clearing Java cache and browser cache should work.

Follow the instructions below:

1. Clear the Java cache on the client:

1.1 To clear client Java cache go toStart > Settings > Control Panel > Java (Java Control Panel)
1.2 UnderTemporary Internet FilesclickSettings...and then clickDelete Files...
1.3 Ensure theApplications and Appletscheck box is selected and clickOK.

If the above does not solve your problem then try doing below mentioned steps:

2. Use Browser upload instead of Applet upload by changing the upload preference in the Preference Manager:

2.1. Go toHome > Utilities > Preference Manager > Attachments
2.2 SetFile Upload MechanismtoUse basic browser functionality

Unfortunately, this error can have many underlying causes and gives no
indication as to which is involved.

Several of the security fixes in Java 6 update releases were disruptive
and caused issues with Windchill clients. One or more of these can
cause such issues with the document management applet as I recall, so be
sure you have the latest patches from PTC to address this.

That said, I'm actually not immediately sure that /all /such patches are
available for R9.0, since it may have been beyond the support window
when some of the patches were produced. Of course, R9.1's support
window is still open.
