Hi Everyone,
I virtualized a physical Windchill server and added the VM to my Hyper-V environment.
When I try to access Windchill on the VM, I get prompt for a username and password. Once I submit my credentials, I get the dreaded "503 Service unavailable".
I can see that the PTC HTTP and PTC Windchill services has started.
Where else should I look to resolve this error?
Thanks in advance.
May be you need to open the 80 port in the Windows Firewall of your windchill server.
when I put in the \\localhost:80 in a browser, Apache responds with "it works"
It looks like an application server issue. Could you have a look at the Windchill/logs folder? to be specific MethodServer-XXXX logs there
Send me your method server log )
I have attached the latest Method server log file.
How does Windchill treat the server name\mac address? The reason I am asking is because I am currently running the physical Windchill server in parallel with the virtual Windchill server (which has a different name) so maybe the computer name is causing the issues?
1. You need to lookup your windchill server name in host file for safety.
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
127.0.0.1 sim-svr-005.simex.ca sim-svr-005
2. Check the Apache URL http://sim-svr-005 and http:// sim-svr-005.simex.ca
3. Turn off the Windows Firewall
4. Check the availability windchill locally on the server
