Is there a concept of Precise BOM in Windchill like the one which we have in Teamcenter.
Can the below scenario be maintained in Windchill
P1 - Rev A P2 - Rev A
C1 - Rev A C1 - Rev B
C2 - Rev A C2 - Rev B
I believe the Precise BOM of TC is related to manufacturing, not engineering.
With MPMlink, you should be able to do the same in Windchill.
With what you show, that should be doable with an as-saved condition in both TC and WC. Just create and save the P1 assembly before revising the C1 and C2 parts to build the P2 assembly. If you use load latest, you will end up with both P1 and P2 using rev B of C1 and C2.
Curious choice of terms by TeamCenter.
The only alternative to "Precise" has to be "Imprecise." 🙂
It's a relationship - why imply that unless one selects Precise that it is some random thing?
Windchill is specific - example: give me the models that were current at the time a drawing was checked in (As-stored condition), or the models that are current now (Latest). Others for Baseline, etc.
