Primary Content Mass Download tool - show of hands
I wrote a custom Primary Content Mass Download tool for our users. They enter numbers (maybe hundreds) into a text field and a zip file containing the Primary Content of each Doc entered is created along with two csv files. One mapping number to primary content filename. The second is a list of numbers where the primary content file name does not at least start with the number.
Management has asked me to ask around if other Windchill people are using this kind of a tool and if/how they control access to this tool.
In the past this tool required the user to have a Windchill account and the link to the tool. I put a stop to that as this link was getting passed around like there was no tomorrow. Now the user needs to be specifically allowed to access.
And yes, access policy is in play here. I asked management if they wanted me to set the session user to wcadmin when the tool was run. One laughed the others just kept staring into space.
Any thoughts on this?
