Reassign Worklist Tasks

Does anyone know of a way for an administrator to reassign a worklist task of another user? Ideally, the admin could view the full assignments list of another user and then choose to reassign tasks.

We are currently, migrating to PDMLink 9.1 M030 from Windchill Foundation 6.2.6. This is something we customized in 6.2.6.

Any help would be apreciated!

Jen,

We had the same customization under Foundation 6.0 but we choose not to port the it forward when we migrated to PDMLink 8. The reason we choose not to port it was because you can see all tasks on a product under the "Product->assignments" tab and reassign tasks for a user from there. It is not quite as nice as being able to reassign tasks for a user all at once, but it is one less customization to maintain.

Jen,

If the task is assigned based on a role in the process, then updating the role participants from the team option under collaboration will re-assign the task based on the new role members. So when you update the team the workflow tasks follow suit. We are using this functionality to de-customize our re-assign tasks functionality as we upgrade to PDMLink.

This is supported in the Assignments tab of Product / Library. You can view
/ sort tasks of other users and mass reassign (assuming you
have privileges).

Even though you can reassign tasks via product level assignments or team role assignments, neither of those allow reassigning all the tasks for a user in one swell swoop. It can be a pain in the neck to do it container by container if a person is member of lots of products/teams. The easiest thing to do, which we used to have a customization for under 6.0, would be to be able to get a list of tasks assigned to a user and then be able to reassign the tasks there.

We are creating a separate library for Change Requests / Change Notices
which is the only place a user can create these even though the objects
associated may be throughout the system. It sounds like this may be to
our benefit for task reassignment, because all of the change mangement
tasks will be in one library.

I haven't checked, but hopefully we can create a table view for the
owner of the task.

We do have other tasks that will be all over the place, so I agree it
would be very helpful to have one place to go to see the full list.
