Security error during check-in

Security error during check-in

One of our users got following while attempting to check-in a CAD
document
"ATTENTION: Secured Action. You do not have the necessary authorization
for this operation. Please contact your administrator if you believe you
have received "

He's unable to use undo-checkout and check-out but can not check-in this
document. While with in same workspace he can check-out and check-in
other objects.

Any clues why?

Thanks!
Yugendra

What product is the object being checked into and does this user have the correct access to that product. The product the object is going to is not always going to be the product context for that workspace. User is member of the product that object belongs to. He is able to
check-out the object. He can undo check-out but can not check-in.

Hello Yugendra,

Acess Control is manage by the Object Type and the Product/Library for each Life Cycle. It is not related to the Workspace.

Review the Lifecycle of the Object.
Review the Product/Library
Confirm the object is not already checked out by another User or by the User in a different Workspace.

Yugendra,

Can he Check In other Objects in the Product?
What is the Lifecycle of the Object?

In the Product Access Controls the Role the User is defined to likely has Modify Rights (Which will allow Check Out) but Not Modify Content Rights for the particular Lifecycle.

So companies Leave "Modify" On since in later builds of 9.0 its used to manage whether someone can promote.

All our products/libraries have same set of permissions for each user -
defined at organization level. This user is able to checkout - modify
and check in objects from other contexts. I need to confirm if he's able
to modify other objects from same context.

As far as life cycle is concerned, object is in in work - hence should
be modifyable.

Check to see if the USER is also a member of a conflicting group, like
View Only group and Detailer group. I have run into this problem before.

User is member of the product that object belongs to. He is able to
check-out the object. He can undo check-out but can not check-in.

It may not be the CAD that is the problem.

* Do you do part management? If so, is the WTPart modifiable/IN
work/ACL access. The part has to be checked out too.

* Do you use skeletons? Is the skeleton modifiable? ...

* Do you use family tables? Is the generic modifiable? ...

* Check the team/GROUP ACL in the context of the user. ...

* Do you different lifecycles per context? Check the access in
the lifecycles ...

There are a whole lot of other possibilities, but these are the top
hitters
