Setup Participants Applet in Task details page

We are using Windchill 9.1 .
I the workflow we are using for an approval process has only 3 roles
Submitter
Reviewer
Approver

Also Role setup tab is set to use only these roles.

Iin task page for Submitter, other roles are also getting displayed. I want
to remove the unnecessary roles showing up there. I believe these roles are
coming from context team. But I couldn't find a setting/preference for not
to show up all the roles from context team.

Documentation says only roles in Role setup tab of workflow should show up
task details page. I must be missing something here. Any input would be
greatly appreciated.

The team instance is a combination of all possible places where the particular workflow process "sees" Roles. Drives you crazy unless you start with a stripped-down workflow with only one activity and build from there.

PTC hides Roles in the Lifecycle also. Look closely at each state. The Roles are tied to certain states (but not others) without you adding them. Be careful after removing - sometimes they come back when you save the Lifecycle.

Look also in all workflow activities in the current workflow template. If any are configured to "Resolve Roles from Team Template xxxx" then the Roles will also be pulled from team template(s).

Prathap, there is a last tab on the properties page on the workflow
activity, which lets you choose the team template (instead of the
Context team) for that process.

Thanks Mike for all your inputs. I copied the OOTB Approval Process and
modified it to meet our need. I had to create it from scratch to fix the
issue, as per your suggestion. With new process only relevant roles(Approver
and Reviewer) are showing up in the applet. I still am not sure what made
those roles show up in 'Setup Participants' applet earlier.

Now I am having another issue. Even though Approver and Reviewer roles in
Context team have participants, Setup Participants applet is not
preselecting them. So user has to select them manually everytime. Any ideas
?

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried changing the teams in Resource
pool from Context team to a org level team. But that didn't fix the issue.
Finally I ended up creating the workflow from scratch.
