Upgrading PDMLink 10.0 to 10.1

Hi,

I have search PTC's website for information about how to upgrade PDMLink 10.0 M020 to latest release of 10.1. It is not very clear to me.

I have found "Windchill Installation and Configuration - Update Existing Installation Guide" (http://www.ptc.com/WCMS/files/137774/en/WCUpdateExistingInstallConfigGuide.pdf) but it is not very clear there either.

Is is the same proceedure as for example updating 10.1 M010 to 10.1 M030?

Is it possible to upgrade on the same server, or does it require a separate server to upgrade to?

Any information is of interest.

Hans,

Just use the PTC Solution Installer disk to upgrade your instance, then run this from a Windchill shell:

"upgrade_tool -username <user> -password <pwd> -noui -locale en"

In my case WindchillDS didn't upgrade, however I just installed the new version manually.

The "Read Me First" document has some other tips as well.
