Visualization thumbnails in PDM/link - Photo instead of CAD?

Occasionally I'd like my visualization thumbnail to be a jpeg or bmp. This is particularly for small electronic items which we model as simple blocks, so the CAD viewable isn't particularly informative, but it would be good to have a photo of the component on the page of the WTpart to help our staff confirm the component is what they think it is.

I can easily manage to make a jpeg or bmp the viewable for an 'empty' WT part. However where that WT part has associated CAD content the menu changes and there seems to be no way of changing the viewable away from the CAD viewable to a photo.

Does anyone have any ideas, I was wondering if there was a config option tucked away somewhere?
Many thanks.

Hi Phil. You might try this workaround. Create an empty (no content) document in Windchill. From the Representations drop down of this new document add a representation. With a document you can navigate out and import a file. If this works then Add that new viewable to the Clipboard. Go to your CAD doc and Paste that viewable for the representation. Go back then and Delete the empty document. Not the cleanest but may get you what you're needing.

Jim, many thanks for the suggestion, that works a treat and isn't too much of an overhead to do.
