Everyone,
Currently, the group I work with has a Windchill 9.1 server up and running (Only PDMLink at the moment). Another product group at the company is looking for a data management solution for their Solidworks data and I was requested to provide information on if Windchill was a viable solution. I see that there is a Windchill Workgroup Manager for Solidworks files that, according to the PTC brochure, is capable of letting Windchill provide the same level of control and integration with Solidworks as it does with Wildfire/Creo. However, my experience with PTC brochures is that they are a bunch of marketing literature, not a very good source of "real-world" information. So, my questions to everyone are:
1. Has anyone worked with using the WGM for Solidworks with Windchill 9.1?
2. If so, how well did it work out?
3. Is there a better solution?
I really do not want to push people to use a system that is not going to be able to properly support their data just so IT has one less server to deal with.
