Windchill...Does Update Part Exist?

We just switched over to Windchill and I was so used to Intralink and now we're having a nightmare. In Intralink, if i worked on an assembly that was in WIP but a part in the assembly was approved sometimes it said that the part was modified after I saved the assembly. I simply would update the part in my workspace, since I never touched it, and then check in the assembly. Now, it seems like this isn't possible. Am I missing something or is there an easy way around this? All I see is the Update out of date button, which in this situation does nothing.

Terminology is everything for this - need to be very precise using the words or it will drive you crazy.

Fundamentally different mechanics for the same basic overall results. Study carefully: Check Out, Check In, Revise, Modify.

Hey,

The fix I have found through a PTC support call is to do an "Add to Workspace" for the objects that are showing modified, and show ineligable for upload circle with the line through it. Use the big green plus icon. This has worked for us.

Buddy

Forgot on crucial step when using the big green plus. You will need to uncheck "Reuse objects in target Workspace". If you don't you are basically telling Windchill to do nothing. Hope this helps!
