Windchill Error when data is moved.

Windchill Error when data is moved.

All,

I am trying to move a CREO part file from one contextbox to another one.
I receive an error: Object "wt.epm.EPMDocument>10911020" is not persistent.

I think the reason behind this is, that this part was in the past a family table part.
At this moment the latest revision is not a family table part.
The instance is "copied out". In fact the part and the instance are now separated parts.

Can anyone tell me how to solve this problem so I am able again to move the part?
Thanks in advance.

With kind Regards,

Are you sure the part(s) you speak of were ever uploaded from the local
workspace to the server workspace? Or not deleted?

We used to get this error quite a bit. Especially, after we changed the Windchill configuration, 'Send a CAD document Dynamic Document to PDM without optional Dependents' to True.

While that setting was set to True we would get these errors once every 4-6 weeks. After a lot of troubleshooting we tracked the cause down to the above mentioned setting. After we set it back we have not seen this error since.

However, when you get the not persistent error, it almost always took a database level manipulation to fix. PTC tech support finally issued us a patch after quite a bit of work to clear up our last remaining errors.

So the recommendation is to leave, 'Send a CAD document Dynamic Document to PDM without optional Dependents' at the default False setting.

Hi Bert,

This could be 2 issues according to your email:

The common issue when moving any object, you may have to restart windchill due to cache. This sometimes happens when you move a lot of files and you cannot see the files in the new location.
