behavior of state-based version schemes

Hi all,

I'm just to looking to confirm my understanding of how state-based versions schemes operate in Windchill.Assuming I have a simple lifecycle with 2 states to which a state based version scheme is applied as followed

first state - aphabetic (A.1)

second state - numeric (1.1)

When I revise from the first state to second state the version scheme changes from aphabetic to numeric.

If I then revise backward from the second state the first, the version scheme remains numeric, even though the first state was assigned an alphabetic version scheme.

Is this intended functionality? Once the scheme has changed there is no going back? I don't know why but, I was expecting the version scheme to revert back to one assigned to that state.

Thanks

Darren

Hi Darren

As far as I understand it that is the 'intended functionality'.
I can't find the reference to it right now but I do remember reading, that once you have changed version schemes you can't go back.
