We at Alcon try our best to volunteer helpful info as much as possible on this forum; we're currently in need of some help from others on this subject.
We have been using Change Notices / Change Tasks since late June this year, gradually ramping up use of the functionality, but starting the process with approved paper change forms. We're still struggling quite a bit with how to implement Change Requests fully in place of paper forms in a way that accomodates the requirements of our business, and which does not make change happen too drastically or too fast.
We're very interested in a discussion with anyone currently using or planning for Windchill change management on these topics.
Reference note: We have ALL product data in Windchill PDMLink. The data is ~ 1/2 Pro/Engineer, but it also includes all ECAD, MS Word, Adobe Illustrator, etc., etc. We're just starting to add WTParts and Product Structure. Currently our BOM's are mastered in our ERP system and there is no communication yet between Windchill and that system. As a regulated company, we are required to have fully auditable change records; the changes actually made need to match approved proposals in every detail.
