forum posting upgraded from 8.0 to 9.1

For those who have upgraded, did you have any issues viewing old posting
from 8.0? I am curious to know if any postings and forums created in
8.0 did not display properly in 9.1. In my case, it throws an error (TS
called opened). I am able to see forums on items that had no postings or
topics (forum would be created from template when first accessed in
9.1). It appears that db structure has changed but old postings were not
moved.

We had huge problems on this.

After lots of tech support calls w/resolution, we finally extracted all forum info directly from Oracle and stored in Excel, converted to zip and stored that back into Windchill as a WTDoc, then deleted all forum contents and started over on 9.0.

So windchill does not suppport export/import of discussion forums. Thats
not so good.

Probably one of those items you have to build an custom ixb exporter/importer for which there is a demo of in the custo guide. You'd think the upgrade would just take care of this. But having your own exp/imp loadfilemeans might be the work around.

Let's not get off topic on this thread. The issue I am concerned about
is how the Upgrade Manager was supposed to handle postings from previous
version. I have noticed that newer postings appear differently in the
database. I suspect that this might be the cause. I have compared the
data from 8.0 and it appears unchanged in 9.1. It is possible that what
I am seeing is related to the fact the ECN objects are now versioned but
I could not see any other difference so far. It did appear that the
FORUMSUBJECTLINK was not used when creating a posting in 9.1.
