importing data into Intralink

importing data into Intralink

I have ~3000 files that I want to import into Intralink.  ~1400 of these files already exist in Commonspace.

Any advice on how to proceed?

Ideally, I'd like to avoid checking out the existing data and then importing again.

I haven't done this before.  Was wondering if I could create a new vault or context to import this data.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

1. Create a workspace.

2. Use workspace Tools, Import - browse to and select the 3000 files

3. Select Next, not Finish.  The result (may take a while) will show a yellow triangle for all that are already in Windchill.  Select all those and then "Re-Use Existing."  Select to not bring the files to the workspace.

4. Select Finish - all new files come into the workspace.

5. All new objects will have an orange star.  Select all those and check in.  If problems, select Upload first.  If still problems select and process a sub set at a time.  May have to handle some naming conflicts - use Workspace Rename.
