Annotate Tab Performance Issue

Annotate Tab Performance Issue

Greetings...

We recently upgraded to WF5(running a mix of M060 and M100 builds) andare seeing performance issues when switching to or working within the "Annotate" tab on drawings. This happens for, essentially, all actions, even something as benign as deleting a dimension. The problem does not occur on single parts or small assemblies, but when the component part count climbs, so does the time needed to be able to do anything within the Annotate tab.It can take as long as 30 seconds for the system to respond after selecting the Annotate tab, or performing any action once in that tab. Our "large" data sets are relatively small by comparison and will contain in the neighborhood of 75 - 150 total components. My gut feeling is that it is related to the Drawing Tree, but I have nothing to support that. It "feels" as though the system is trying to rationalize and account for all of the axes, planes, etc in the components in order to display the indented information, but that is just a guess. If it helps, there appears to be no abnormal disk activity while this occurs; we simply stare at the hourglass until the system returns and then we do one more thing - and stare at the hourglass again. Testing has shown that it is not a drawing/assembly/computer-specific problem. It occurswith every "large" drawing, on every computer we test on.

Has anyone experienced this? Anyone know the cause or, better yet, a solution? The delay on every single action within Annotate is killing us in terms of productivity.

Thanks in advance...

One of our engineers has reported this issue during the past week.
For one particular drawing, it take 4 minutes to switch from the Layout tab to the Annotate tab.

Has anyone else seen this slowness, and/or a solution?

We have C E Pro 5.0 M130 installed and I have received to no reports
from users on this issue.

A few things I can think of to try;

* Try without any option or interface configurations (config.pro
& .ui files)

* Do you have any erased views?

* Does it matter what sheet you are on? Empty sheet?

o If it still happens to a sheet that has no views, that would help to
know.

* What view display settings are in use? Any simplified reps?

* Any quilts? HLR for quilts on? (HLR for quilts often cause
performance issues)

* Are drawing reps in use? Does using one help? (see above about
empty sheet)
