At Planet PTC I had several customers ask me about removing cabling assembly references. PTC enabled the ability to remove cabling assembly references in Wildfire 4.0
There are two options.
Option one
- Create a shrinkwrap \copy geom
- Set configuration option freeze_failed_cable_locations to Yes
- Route the cables referencing the copy geom
- Delete the copy geom - the locations will then freeze
- From within cabling Locations > Covert to offset - Use CTRL + F to find and select all the frozen locations
- Select an assemblycoordinate system - all the locations are then offset from the selected Coordinate System
Option two
- Route all you cables using any reference you want
- From within cabling Locations > Covert to offset - Use CTRL + F, In search tool Select status tab, and set"is not equal to""frozen" to find and select all the locations
- Select an assembly coordinate system - all the locations are then offset from the selected Coordinate System
In both options I recommend you set the configuration option freeze_failed_cable_locations to Yes as this will make sure you harness is stable during design changes.
I trust this information is helpful, if not then please let me know
Thanks
Jim
