Control the colour of a model with a parameter

Hello everyone.

I hope that some of you expert will be able to help me.

We are trying to create models which are fully controlled by parameters. The system is working very well. We now want to improve it and be able to have different colour depending on the type of coating. We have a restricted parameters that we called COATING and it containes several values (zinc plated, nickel plated etc....). We want to create a relation between the value of the parameter and the colour of the model. If we manage this, it will increase the speed at which models are created. All the parameters are at the moment populated from a User Interface and it is passed on to the proe model. Up to now we failed to find out how to create this relation.

Any help will be very much appreciated.

Thank you in anticipation

You should also be able to do this by controlling the material defined with
the part. You would need to define different materials with the
"appearance" included in the material definition. This will produce a
parameter called "PTC_MATERIAL_NAME" which you could then vary via.
Pro/program or other techniques.
