Creo Parametric Educational Edition exports empty file

Hi,

I've recently generated some geometry in Creo Parametric 11.0.0.0 on Windows 11, but I can't export it to a different file type for use in a different program. I've tried STEP and Parasolid filetypes, but both export as empty files. What is happening?

Here's a photo of the file sizes, something is clearly wrong.

Any help is appreciated! I attached the file to this post.

I am unable to open educational version of parts. Confirm in the export profile that you are designating geometry to be exported (solid, surfaces etc.). If you are not designating entities in the export profile, then that could result in no geometry coming out. Construction bodies if present in the model must be explicitly specified for export so if you have solids check if they are designated as construction bodies.

Hi,

I don't see an option to designate bodies or geometry. The text under 'Save a Copy' says "Save a copy of the object in the active window". I attached screenshots of how the windows look.

In your part it appears that you have copied lattice geometry from some source. Is there solid geometry in the source part or is it just surfaces?

Try exporting the part as .STL file type and see if that works. If you have Creo generated lattice geometry in this source model then it may not be possible to export STEP or IGES.

I've had the same issue with STL, I will take a look at the document you linked.

Creo has limitations on export of some lattice geometry (no STEP, IGES etc.) unless some new functionality has been added it is not possible to export formula driven lattice structures as solid geometry.

If you are working with lattice geometry, then refer to this link for instructions on exporting lattice geometry.

After following the instructions, the problem persists. I generated the lattice from (into?) an extruded rectangular prism.

In the original file, the export proceeds without issue, but exporting the original lattice, instead of the complementary bodies. Is exporting the complementary body possible?

In your part model check to see if any of the geometry (bodies) you are attempting to export as solid geometry are in fact solid in the Creo model. This can be done visually by using wireframe view to confirm the color is consistent with solid geometry display and should be confirmed with mass property measurement if needed.

It is possible that the complementary bodies are not solid geometry as they are created during the lattice generation. Since I am unable to open your model, I am not able to test this.
