Example data for MBD related ModelCHECK checks
Hello all,
As we look into adding checks to ModelCHECK for MBD, we could use some examples from you to give us a better understanding of what scenarios these checks would address. Would any of you be willing to send non-proprietary examples of the following potential checks for MBD?
- 3D Annotations only referencing edges (i.e. annotations not referencing surfaces) - will also report annotations with no reference at all
- Annotations not displayed in a combined state
- Annotations in multiple combined states (ignoring datum tags)
- Surfaces not referenced by annotations
- Buried annotations - e.g. Note referencing an edge, then add chamfer that removes edge, so annotation is now referencing feature that is no longer visible
Please note that this is not the entire list of proposed MBD checks, nor are all that are listed above necessarily planned for Creo 6. These are simply the checks that could use some supporting data to assist the development process.

Although we haven't moved to MBD (yet...), I would appreciate if all current drawing checks were reviewed to be migrated over for MBD. For instance, overwrite dimension, note_case/font/height/info/spell/unaccept, std_symbols, symbol_info/spell, etc. If there is a way to include tables or formats, there should also be a way to have an equivalent to FORMAT_NAME? Although, I don't recall hearing that from the training I took a few years ago. Also, maybe check for standard combined state names. Modelcheck interactive should automatically add standard orientations and combined states for legacy models.

Thanks for the input, Joseph. Plans for Creo 6.0 are pretty well set, but this is good feedback for future Creo versions.

Luke...I am trying to identify Modelcheck enhancements that were added for Creo 4 and for Creo 5. I'm the MC implementer here at NASA Goddard SFC. Can you point the way for me? Barry Schaeffer

Hi Barry,
Unfortunately, our documentation for ModelCHECK enhancements for Creo 4.0 and 5.0 is lacking, but I'm attaching a couple of slides that highlight changes that have come to ModelCHECK releases.

Does the material density check within subfolders of the material folder as well? We have a bunch of subfolders for categories.

Hi Joseph,
Unfortunately, it does not check subfolders. You need to set the material directory "pro_material_dir" in config.pro to the folder containing the exact material cards.

Luke,
Please add it to your list of enhancements :). Managing a large material database without subfolders is just not realistic.
