Force PDF's to be "A" size...

We trying to create a script that creates a work order for a part, and
prints off the drawing, all automatically out of Pro/E. (WF5)

I have everything working, except for one thing. The printer that we're
wanting to print these on is "A" size only. When I create PDF files of
drawings that are on B-E size sheets, the printer will not print them,
because it does not have those sizes of paper available. It doesn't stop
the printer, it just rejects them as invalid size, and doesn't print them.
While we could get a printer that would print larger sheets, we're NOT
going to install a printer capable of printing "E" size drawings for this
one simple task, since for what we're trying to do here, we only need A's
for everything.

Does anyone know of a way to force the output of the PDF creation in Pro
to be "A" size?, or my like it, does anyone have a workaround that might
work for this task? For the record, our mapkey is using the File/Save As
method for creating the PDF file, but I don't see sheet size in the
Publish menu either.

I don't think you want to force it to create an A size PDF. That's going to mess up all the line weights. (a least in my experience it will)

If you bring up a E size pdf in acrobat you can print it to an A size, so I would assume there is a command line option to force it to print to fit the paper.

Don't know the options. But when you find them please let the rest of us know.

File print a postscript file and then turn that into a pdf using something like ghostscript. This
can be "automated" by creating a pcf file for printing workorders.

Why print the PDF and not the Pro/E drawing? You can create the PDF,
then print from Pro/E. You could then use a PCF to set the output to A
size. If you can't command line print to your printer, however, you'll
still need to manually hit OK in the Windows print dialog.
