Glass Cube Etching

Group:

I have customer who wants their product laser etched inside a glass
cube. They are requesting an .OBJ file, which Pro can make. They also
said DXF, MAX, LWO, or 3DS would work. My question is: How do I make
a file of just the outer outline of the assembly of their product? I've
spent months detailing the guts of the unit. I can hide the guts with 1
click of "remove hidden lines". But how do I make a file that shows
that? I've played around with shrinkwrap yesterday and I got close to
what I wanted but I can't generate an .OBJ file from those surfaces. Is
shrinkwrap the answer or is there another way to do this? I did send
them an OBJ file of a stripped down assembly, but they said the polygons
were too dense and the laser would break the glass.
