ISDX Toroidal shape

Hi all,

I have to model a kind of torus (for a jewelry part).
It's a toroidal shape but not realy circular so I'm using Isdx.

However, I'm not shure what would be the best way to begin.
I can make some "near circular" sections and some "near circular trajectories".
But what would produce the cleanest surfaces ?
2 sections and 2 trajectories > 4 patchs
4 sections and 4 trajectories > 16 patchs
4 sections and 4 trajectories > 4 patchs with 2 internal curves in each one
...
The more surfaces I have, the more tangency I have to handle.

So, is there any example on the web of something like this ?

Thanks,
GB

Is the ring a complete "circle"? I'm not sure that you need ISDX for this.
you could do this with 1 trajectory and 2 sections using a swept blend...
Maybe you could attach a picture of what you are trying to achieve.
