As I recall, importing image in Notebooks was possible in the past. Currently, there seems to be an issue with it. Sometime importing a jpg might pop up, but most of all you get a frame showing 'OLE' and the imported file name, but no graphics.
I can't seem to figure out what the root cause is. Importing an existing JPG file as an object seems the only way to do in a notebook, while a drawing has a specific Images import command
Anyone knows how to solve this?
Using Creo 9.0.4.0 and to my knowledge this worked fine in Creo Parametric 7
Hi,
if you changed computer and Windows version than the problem is related to this change.
Try adding picture in bmp format.
No, unfortunately BMP format does not solve the issue

Hi,
in my Creo 9.0.2.0 (Windows 10) I can insert bmp file.
Please elaborate.
I am using Creo 10 but see the same as per @MartinHanak findings.
Using this procedure imports the graphic content into my layout just fine - though seems only BMP files (24-bit?) are supported:
then
Another way I am suggesting to try - is to bring in a new "Paintbrush Picture" object:
This will open MS-Paint window with a new image - into which you can paste whatever content you want..
After closing the MS-Paint window*, the image will be shown on the layout.
* Note there is no need to save the image - behind the scenes, it will be saved as a 24-bit BMP as the MS-Paint window is closed.
BMP doesn't work, the Paintbrush Picture work-around though will work actually!
To be honest, this probably does what I need. No further sophisticated stuff needed. Still wondering how I did in the past though...
Hi,
just FYI ...

there is a new update: though the paintbrush option works, when switching Workspaces in Windchill and coming back, the picture is gone!
It now shows a white dot on the page and the object is still visible in the Objects list. In which I can select and edit it in Paint. but not visible in the layout page
Hi @DV_6069025 ,

Of course, if you have more to share on your issue, please pursue the conversation.
Thanks,
Yeah, I see the same in Creo 10.0.0.1
Well I don't know. Maybe the OLE technology is not compatible with Windchill...
To follow up, the CAD file containing OLE paintbrush pictures, when retrieved from the workspace - it will not display its pictures.
If this file is saved-as-backup to the local disk, and then retrieved from there, its pictures will be shown.
This is in Creo 10.0.1.0 - seems to me like something that should be fixed.
Any IGES, DWG, or DXF file can be imported into a notebook. This is according to PTC documentation. I have only used these file types to bring in graphics data, are you certain that JPG files were working in the past in notebooks (layouts)?
