Inserting dimension names into table cell - dimension disappears?

We throw an additional sheet on our part drawings that's for inspections and includes critical dimensions that our machinists measure to.

There are tables on one side of the inspection sheet and the other side usually includes front/right/top view and the dimensions are "stolen" from these views and then added again to the views once the table is populated.

Example:

-dimension inspection sheet view

-"steal" the &adXXXX name by copying

-paste into table cell

Like I said, doing this makes the actual dimension disappear from the view. Does anyone have any tips or tricks that would improve this process to make it less time consuming?

A dimension may only be shown once per drawing. By dragging the part dimensions from the view o the table, you are effectively moving the location of the dimension callout from the geometry view to the table.

You can make the dimensions model annotations which will allow you to show the dimensions in the table and on the drawing view. You need to add the dimension to the table first and then show it on the view.

The intent is to avoid overdimensioning, but some users wanted to be able to have both, so we did not remove one workflow:  make a second note calling out the dimension, then delete that.
