Back to the 32-bit Pro/E on 64-bit systems.
While it is true that 32-Bit Pro/E is limited to 2 GB on a 64 bit
system, what we have observed is that because the operating system can
occupy a different segment of RAM, and do the same for other programs,
the Pro/E instance can utilize a greater portion of memory than it would
have available to it on a 32 bit system, where it has to share that 2GB
with everything else.
Essentially, you are gaining memory simply by not crowding it. We have
run large assemblies on a 64-bit machine running 32-bit Pro/E that will
crash due to memory limitations on a 32-bit system.
