MBD: Creo Export to PVZ files Losing Flat pattern Simple rep Information.

Hi Guys,

I'm working on the rollout of MBD and boost in my company and facing a few problems that I can't find solutions for.

I'm exporting Sheetmetal parts to CreoViewer (.pvz file) with a combination state set as the flat pattern, but the export combination state does not reflect the Creo displayed model.

CREOVIEWER FLAT DISPLAY STATE:

Creo Parametric Flat Display State:

If Someone could point me in the correct direction to get these creo PVZ file to export with the same info as creo parametric that would be ideal.

I've alot people who have abandoned all hope over this small problem.

Hi @TM_12049239

Thank you for your question.

Your post appears well documented but has not yet received any response. I am replying to raise awareness. Hopefully, another community member will be able to help.

Also, feel free to add any additional information you think might be relevant. It sometimes helps to have screenshots to better understand what you are trying to do.

Many basic Features when it comes to working with Sheetmetal are missing for both MBD and General use. There is no way to export DXF from part making it impossible to set up a functional map key that allows Users to export DXF files for Laser Cutting or Punch machining quickly. Design teams already use Simplified reps to organise flat patterns, yet there is no way to export directly from a part file.

PTC advertises a top-down design for MBD, yet removes the basic feature of exporting Flat patterns and forces users to spend almost $ 7 figures on Windchill to still face the same Issues. This doesn't work for the engineer and teaching CAD design at a University to design students and innovators. I can in good conscience recommend PTC products to anyone with providing the basics.
