Move imported step geometry?

Hi folks,

I was wondering if anybody had some slick methods of cleaning up imported STEP files.

In the past I have:

1. Re-create simple geometry manually associated to CSYS I want and then delete the imported feature

2. Copy surfaces of step feature and transform to the default csys, delete original import

3. Edit the STEP file on very simple geometry to adjust for the CSYS offset

4. Create new CSYS where I want it to be relative to imported surface, export (STEP or IGES) based on that CSYS and then import it back in

Does anybody have anything slicker? I'd really appreciate hearing of other methods.

Thanks,

Josh

Hi Josh,

that is a nice little collection of different ways already.

Most of the time I would use what you describe in version 3 if you mean moving the surfaces using the "transform" command in the IDD module.

That at least I find pretty slick because you can selectively transform single surfaces or quilts or the whole lot.
