Need help trimming a surface?

Hello Gurus,

Running Wildfire 3.0.I have created a surface with the copy & paste method. I only want to machine a small section of the surface. In the past(been laid off for a while)I believe that I could trim the surface by sketching the area I wanted and I had a choice then to keep the area I wanted by picking the1 arrow or 2 arrow directions.

One thing you can do is select a window instead of surfaces. This way you do
not need to trim the surfaces.
