Paperless Process Sheets

We are looking for a way to display our manufacturing process sheets on the shop floor using a touch screen. Ultimately we want to use ProductView to do this, however we would consider other solutions. The requirements are as follows:

  • View Pro/E drawings, Office and PDF
  • No log in required
  • Only latest revision shown
  • Easy way to locate of browse files
  • Easy navigation (Pan, zoom, select page...)
Any suggestions? Is anyone doing something similar on their manufacturing floor?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Hi,

there are tools which publish certain PDMLink objects (2D drawings, Content of WTdocs (if it is MS Office document) for any predefined life cycle state. The published data are in pdf format.

You could imagine that when a data is released in PDMLink, that application will create outside PDMLink a pdf version of that data. You could write a html page or viewer to access those pdf. The pdf filename can be based on certain PDMLink attribute. For instance NUMBER_NAME_VERSION.pdf

We are currently doing something similar and we use PSW from etrage. It can also delete the pdf (if the state changes to Obsolete for instance). PSW has the capability to map PDMLink folders to Windows folders and has other features.

We have been using in production since 1st january this year and we are very pleased with the application and the service Etrage provides us

Feel free to contact me if you want more information about how we use it.

Hope this helps

best regards
