Portable CMM Experiences

Hello,

I am looking into using one of these devices for a job we have in hand.

I wondered whether you have experience that can point me to the relative merits of Articulated Arm Portable CMMs (Faro Arm, Romer Arm, etc.) versus portable laser probes (Handy Probe, etc.).

Our main requirement is to validate equipment we have built, rather than reverse engineering; more of a classical QC type of application.

I have seen the Faro arm used in the past and been very impressed, but perhaps I should be considering the other players in the market as well.

What is your advice?
