Pro/E WF2.0: Drawing: Family table

Hi,

I'm using 2D repeat region in the drawing sheet. The numbers of
instances which I have in the Family table are ample, which are
difficult to fit in a single sheet. Is there any way to break the family
table in two different sheets (without loosing the 2D repeat region
update)?

Or is there any better way to accommodate all the instances in more than
one sheet without loosing the bilateral-associativity?

Thanking You

Have you tried Table>Paginate. I think that between that command and then Edit>Move Item to Sheet you may be able to get what you are looking for.

Hope this helps

Hi,

I have created a family table using 2D repeat region. If suppose after
updating the table, I get 4 columns with respective
"&fam.inst.param.name". Now I want remove the relation & input my own
text. I am only able to edit 2 columns but not more than that. So, is it
possible to change the values without affecting the bilateral
associability of family table?

Please refer for better understanding (If in case I'm deficient to
convey my message properly to you)

My actual requirement is

PART NUMBER (ROUND TYPE)

LEG LENGTH

NO. OF LEGS

TABLE HEIGHT

TABLE TOP DIAMETER

TABLE 1

10

4

13

25

My procedure to attain the above

1. After using 2D repeat region

&fam.inst.param.name_1

&fam.inst.param.name_2

&fam.inst.param.name_3

&fam.inst.param.name_4

&fam.inst.name

&fam.inst.param.value_1

&fam.inst.param.value_2

&fam.inst.param.value_3

&fam.inst.param.value_4

2. After updating, the table turns out to be

PART NAME (ROUND TYPE)

00-001-03

00-002-02

00-003-02

00-004-03

TABLE 1

10

4

13

25

3. Now changing the values of column headings (I'm only able to change
the value of next column, not other columns as I'm not allowed that
option)

PART NAME (ROUND TYPE)

LEG LENGTH

00-002-02

00-003-02

00-004-03

TABLE 1

10

4

13

25

So, how will I be able to change the headings of the last three columns?
Maintaining the associativity of family table in part as well as
drawing.

Kindly suggest for an answer.

Because the parameter shown in the particular table cell is
'&fam.inst.param.name_1', &fam.inst.param.name_2", etc... You need to
change the parameter name at the part level to change the contents of
the cell from '0-002-02' to 'NO OF LEGS'

Because the original 2D table starts out as a 2x2 table, you can
manually enter any values into these four cells, but they will not
propagate throughout the table.

When you got the cell to display 'LEG LENGTH' instead of '00-001-03', it
is because the text 'LEG LENGTH' overwrote the parameter callout
'&fam.inst.param.name_1'

You should be able to confirm this by 'switch symbols' command under
relations.

In my experience trying to accomplish this exact same thing, there is no funciton that allowsyou to use 2D repeat regions while entering any column header you wish.

The previous suggestion to change the name from "00-001-03" to "LEG_LENGTH" comes closes to allowing this to happen. The biggest drawback to this method is when you wish to use special characters or symbols in the column header, like the dreaded ± (plusminus) or º (degree) symbols, or when you need to enter so much text you need several lines (word wrap).

To get a repeat region where the data is read from the family table while allowing any text you wish to be inserted as the column header requires the use of a separate simple repeat region for each column. Each simple repeat region must then be filtered to only show a single attribute from thefamily table.

I created the attached filewhile still using WF3.0. I justtook a look at the menus in WF4.0 and it looks identical.

Hi all,

How can I link/open a table in drawing file with an excel sheet?

The drawing table I want to link is a mixture of parametric (using 2D
repeat region) & manual entries. So, to edit the manual part of table
(after making changes to family table in part file) is very cumbersome,
as the table contains more than 28 entries/rows. If I would be able to
link/open that table in excel sheet without disturbing the bi-lateral
associativity of it, then editing the manual entries (by
addition/deletion of rows in between the table) will be very easy for
me. So, Is it possible to do so?

Hope I'll get a solution for this.
