Regeneration Slow in Assembly

Regeneration Slow in Assembly

Hello,
I have an assembly, comprising several sub-assemblies, which takes an age to
regenerate after any modification.
The status message at the bottom of the screen ticks through one of the
sub-assemblies very slowly, and reports 'xyz regenerated with one unattached
feature' after each individual component of the sub-assembly has
regenerated.
If I open that sub-assembly, change something and regenerate it, it is done
in a flash.
If I suppress the offending sub-assembly and regenerate the top-level
assembly, it regenerates fast.
The offending sub-assembly is assembled csys to csys in the top-level
assembly.

Two questions:
*     What is causing the slow regeneration?
*     If it is to do with the 'unattached feature' message, how do I find
the unattached feature?
All suggestions gratefully received.

Regards,
