Carrie's post pointed out that I was being an idiot. Once I went thru "D." on Jeff's Method again the view displayed correctly. Again I see that everything works if I let it.

If I read the solution for how you created the views below correctly, you aren't using the simplified rep in the view, you are using the simplified rep to search for the components to not show in that view. So, it's the master rep in the view with a bunch of items blanked in the component display.
