I've never really had a "need" to do this before, until today.
I want to be able to cut out a "section" of a part to see behind it, but I
don't necessarily want to make the whole part phantomed out, which is what
we do quite often.
I searched in Pro/Help, and it appears that this type of a section should
be possible, but I could not get it to work right. I actually did have
the section that I wanted, but it blew everything away on the outside, and
kept the "inside", and I couldn't find a way to flip it around. I suspect
that it has something to do with zones, but I couldn't figure zones out,
or I couldn't find a combination that I thought should work.
Eventually, I ended up adding a family table instance that has an assembly
cut that cuts out a "section" of the part that I want removed. While this
does appear to work, I can't help but think that this is not the proper
way to do this.
Is there a way to use a cross section feature to section out the area like
the red line, so that I can see behind it?
