Solidworks to Pro/e STEP file

An collaborator company is using SW 2011 x64 (64bit) Premium Edition with
SP4.0. and we are working part of their design. They started to send us STEP
files and we are unable to open those.

I found this piece of info:

Just had the same problem. The only thing that ended up working was to transfer to us as IGES as detailed in the link below:

I found this piece of info:
http://help.solidworks.com/2010/English/SolidWorks/Sldworks/LegacyHelp/Sldworks/ImpExp/HIDD_EXPORT_OPTIONS_STEP.htm

and told the guys to export using STEPAP214 and not to include curves or
Sketch entities.

Is there any other advice that we can use to make this so called standard
file open-able.

regards,

Alfonso

I try to open the file, and it gives some errors like G2 and G3
discontinuities. I had to wiki that up. But usually things with those types
of errors still open fine. I renamed it from STEP to STP with no spaces. I
also asked the originator to send me smaller files. the first one was 250mb
(too big for 32bit) the next one was 150mb and no luck. Today I got a 60mb
and no luck either. They confirmed that they were using the AP214 and not
including sketches or curves.

Does anyone know how to export each part individually like we can do in
pro/e but in solidworks? I'm going to ask them to export just one part to
see if at that very basic level pro/e can do something.

regards,

Alfonso
