Depending of surfaces, there are couples of method to use here. For a flat
surface Cosmetic skecth, Xhatch is used. For cylindrical surface a wrap or
projected pattern curve can be used. Coloring the surfaces is an excellent
way to convey your intend; however, it can't be done on an engineering
drawing.
I try #Insert, #Cosmetic, #Sketch, #Regular Sec, #Xhatch, #Select the sketch
plane, #Select the largest circle as reference, start drawing 45deg lines
and dimensions spacing between lines etc. This is very cumbersome and times
consuming as there are too many dimensions and lines to draw on a large
circles. Am I doing this right? I can't find options to pick the border as
one user suggest below. Am I missing something?
