circular text pattern

ProE / Creo community,

I have a number dial (similar to a clock face) with numbers 0 to 14. Is
there a way to pattern this and be able to edit the numbers or take it
to the next level and use a relation to increment the number and
pattern.

I had asked a similar question a few years back, and got this solution:

I had asked a similar question a few years back, and got this solution:

Thanks to Kevin S. at PTC by way of Scott Carbone:

Fun problem, easy solution.
1) In your text sketch, sketch a point dimensioned X units away from
zero.
2) Create a sketcher relationship, LABEL=itos(sd0/X) (or whatever the sd#
of the X dimension was). The ITOS function is "integer to string" and the
equation sets the text at X units="1", X*2 units="2", etc.
3) Create your sketched text and choose LABEL as the driving parameter.
sketch your text relative to the sketch point you just created, that way the
text label and the point will move together. The simplest would be to draw
the text line straight up from the point and then set the text to be
centered horizontally.
4) Finish the sketch. Modify the X dimension and watch the fun (if you
did it correctly, the number will rapidly change as it dynamically moves the
location)
5) Create a dimension pattern picking the X and incrementing by X.

Original question:

My coworker wants to create a pattern of cuts, where the sketch for each cut
is text, and the text is simply a number, starting at 1 and counting up. I
seem to recall there's a way to relate this text to a pattern index, but I
can't find it. Can anyone help us out?

Thanks.

I had trouble getting this to work for a circular pattern, but might point
you in the right direction

Could you use "Publish geom., copy geom. from another model" and just
pull the surfaces in for a number of times to get the pattern from the
original clock face?

that could be many, many surfaces depening on the "font" or method used to create the symbols.

Does the end solution require a unique font? A built-in Pro/E 3D font?

If there is a high risk of the font changing to something that might not be supported as a parametric font within Slow/E, you might want to consider having the numbers/font generated as a dumb solid and simply reside in you model as an import. Other tools may make more sense than Pro/E to generate the artwork? I wish you could "scale-quilt" as a feature in pro/E

IE

Imported surface

Scale quilt

solidy quilt.

That would be cool.
