drawing dimension units

Hello,

I will resist the urge to rant and vent about the "help" file in Pro/e.
Other than it really sucks bad and is completely infuriating. (sort by
"relevance" - nice .) Man - is it hard to resist continuing this.

I am on WF5 Creo Elements Pro.

I have a bunch of metric parts that I need to detail. My dimensions show up
in inches. I can figure out how to switch the dim to mm through the Drawing
Options and setting "drawing_units" to "mm". Sadly, that change applies to
all of the Drawing Settings and now all my arrow sizes, spacings, text
sizes, etc, etc. are in mm (so, for example, my default text height is now
.125 mm)

I don't want to rewrite my dtl file for ten parts. Isn't there a way to
simply display the dimension in mm?

Thanks

-Nate

Hi Nate

You can use the dual_dimensioning dtl option and set it to secondary.
Check that the setting Dual_secondary_units is set to mm.
The dtl is unique to the drawing so no others will be affected by this change.

Awesome! Thanks a ton.

My frustration has melted - well, at least exceeded glass transition.

You can write out your settings to a "DTL" file once you have them the way
you like them. Then you can read settings into drawings you want to have
this settings. You can automate this with a mapkey even to save time.
