hide a layer in all sub-components of an assembly

Hi here, I would like to hide all the reference datum plane in my assembly. I create a layer in the top level of the assembly with the right rule and check the "include submodels" option. Then when I preview the result everything looks good but when I valid the rule it works only on the activated model (the top level of the assembly). Is it possible to create a rule wich work in all level of the asm??

To work, the layer should exist in all the submodels, then the "include submodels" option works.

Thank you CM for your answer. I know it's easy when the same layer is created into each component, but when you drive an assembly with few 3000 parts wich provide through several offices and each one has his template, it's boring to create a layer in all parts! It's also impossible when it's managed by a PDM (Released objects, lybrary components...)
