Gurus,
We use def_layer to create layers. I noticed that when I redefined a solid extrusion to make it a surface Pro/E does not create the surface layer. If I recreate the feature and select surface first then the layer is created correctly. So, I think this issue is just specific to redefine. Is there a setting to control this, or is this a bug, or is the good ol' (un)intended functionality?
