Start a dynamic analysis using the final state of a preceding static analysis

I have a mechanism with many connections.

In Mechanica motion I would run a static analysis using dampers all over the place to get the thing to settle down.

I would then switch off unwanted dampers and use the final arrangement of the static study as the initial state of my dynamic study.

A simple example would be where one component rests upon another with self weight (gravity)

At time zero for a dynamic study, the force between components is zero. This is incorrect, it should be self weight.

I have obviously missed the trick?

Thanks
