Hi Community,
I am trying to perform a FEA Analysis for the below assembly with contacts. I am interested in a Non-Linear Static Analysis using the preload in the bolts, internal pressure in the pipe and axial load on the flange. I have defined custom time functions for these loads as per the needs but whenever I run the study, it fails throwing up a UI Library error. Can anyone guide me what needs done in such cases?
I have defined custom materials for the Gasket and the Rubber springs for its Density, Poissons ratio and its Youngs modulus and I hope that should be sufficient but still unsure if that might be the primary reason for UI Library Failure as the system does not recognize these custom materials?
Any Inputs are highly appreciated. Please see attached step file of the model for review.
Best regards,
Yash
All,
Please see attached zip file for the model.

Yash
FEM is a separate field, so it's not CAD.
But as I said, it's not that simple 😂
Here's a suggestion to get you started.
Yes, it isn't CAD but it references CAD geometry.
What I think is that while first opening of a resaved FEM model it re-references all geometrical references of simplified elements and connection to new model references. And that is how it repairs broken simulation model. There is no way you will be able to easily repair UI library Error. As i've said this model will be borken forever.
My first attempts to repair the model by suppressing all elements of big assembly untill one part left in it but it still left with UI Library error.
Than I saved model as copy and everything was working normally. It is not in the enghine of a pre or post processor. It is liks between simulation model and simulation entities which for some reason starts to be broken for no reason.
Hi,
please report the problem directly to PTC Support.
There is no solution to this problem. If you work in windchill make the following steps. Go to workspace and save as, So model get's all new numbers and names. Then it will work. If you work without windchill. Save as via creo. (I've never tried to do this wothout windchill).
Problem here is if you try to repair this problem inside of an original model you will probably find it. But UI error is never removed forever. Once it's appeared it will appear again in the same model more often. Sounds like strange behaviour, yes it is. Got in on a model wihh over 1,5mil 3D elements. Didn't want to redo all my work. Save as saved my a**.
Hope it works for you.
